This book is about a girl who moves to Maryland because of her father’s transfer.  Her father works in the army.  They move only to find that their father has been transferred again, only this time to Afghanistan.  Her parents promised her that after the move to Maryland, she can get a horse.  She decides to try to get her horse and learn to ride before her father leaves.  As her horse search gets bigger and more frantic, she wonders if she can reach her goal or if she is not good enough to get the right horse soon enough.
