Jill Jekel is a very shy, unliked girl. To make matters worse her dad was slaughtered in an empty parking lot. At her dad's funeral, no one was there to comfort her, until beautiful Tristen Hyde came. While Jill's dad was still alive, her dad and Tristen's dad worked on trying to make a formula to get the beast out of Dr. Hyde. The Hyde's are an unusual family. They are half beasts, but Jill can't stay away from Tristen. Jill and Tristen sneak into the school every night and mix up formulas. Finally, they mix up the right one.

Wynn also has journals with her tales of the undead. Butthe Guild's Scholars have not dismissed the texts. But, without Wynn's permission they start sending out her texts so they can be copyied. Th next day several of Wynn's papers had disapeared. The two people that sent out the texts were murdered....Wynn thinks the Noble Dead are responsible for the killings of the two men.

Donovan, Alex's room mate and Zee, another friend can't take living in Furnace anymore when they see a bunch of innocent people killed during the Blood Watch. The Blood Watch is when they randomly choose someone to execute. More New Fish, Ashley, Toby, and Gary arrive. Gary is a big guy and after he broke the Skulls leader's wrist, Gary took over.
