The book Dreamdark-Silksinger was about a faerie named Whisper. Whisper's parents were killed by devils, and so was the rest of her clan - except her grandparents. They incinerated themselves in the beginning of the book to keep Whisper safe. Whisper's clan's ancestors each took a sworn oath that they would protect the sleeping Azazel, one of the creators of the world.
Lidie is a 12-year-old immigrant from Brazil who likes to ride horses and has to move to a ranch in New York. School and life are hard but she soon adjusts to her new circumstances as well as a new horse named Wild Girl. The two of them have something very special in common. Both Wild Girl and Lidie must live without their mothers. They also both have a bad case of homesickness, and they are heavyhearted because of it.
"Fish Out of Water" is about a hybrid mermaid (a mermaid that can also take human form) named Fred. She is a little different because she is allergic to seafood. Fred's secret that she is a mermaid was discovered when she was feeding the sharks at Sea World where she works. When the paparazzi eventually found out about her, she retreated under water where she met Prince Arthur. He asked her to marry him because it would be good for the Mer-Folk kingdom. Will she take this offer or not?
