In the book "Flat Broke" the main characters are Kevin and John Paul. Kevin has lost his allowance due to lying. He is constantly thinking of ways to make money. His Aunt Buzz is refusing to pay him for working for her, because he lied to her too. Kevin baby sits a little boy named Markie to earn some money for his drivers' test. Kevin is always thinking of ways to get a girl named Tina to like him. He tries to earn money for two tickets to the school dance, and so he sets up poker games in his basement. I enjoyed reading this book, and hope Mr.
Fourteen year old Kevin is really good when it comes to getting people to do what he wants. Right now he wants to make a girl like him. To do that, he needs to spend time with her. The story takes place mostly at Kevin's school. He tells about having a terrible disease to get Katie to do his school project for him. He gets his teachers to let him out of class. He also convinces his friends to get his class work for him. Everything is going wonderful till people realize he is not telling them the truth.
The book "A Crazy Day With Cobras" was a very exciting book. In this book Jack and Annie set off to India to find an emerald rose. They are searching for this rose because Teddy acciendtally turns Penny the penguin into stone. Annie has to pretend to be a boy because in India, 400 years ago women were not allowed to show their faces in public without being killed. In order to get this rose, Jack and Annie have to bring the Great Mongul,(The ruler of India),a precious gift and pick the correct stone from a tray filled with different jewels. I really enjoyed reading this book.
In the small town of Green Lawn, St Patrick's Day is celebrated by decorating little statues of leprechaun's. The mayor then selects a winner. Everyone is excited until the leprechauns start to disappear. Four children are the first to notice their leprechaun dressed like their dog Pal, was missing. When other leprechaun's are reported missing a young college boy named Lucky O'Leary is arrested. The four kids search for information to prove Lucky's innocence. They are shocked by what they find out when they visit the police station.
The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary was an interesting book to read because it gave facts about the making of the movie. The Wimpy kid books are a series of events that take place with the character Greg Heffley. Greg gets in trouble all the time for messing with his younger brother. Other adventures include his older brother Rodrick. The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary gave me insight to behind the scenes of the making of the movie and how the original series was used. I recommend this book to young readers.
