The Blackthorn Key, by Kevin Sands, is a thrilling adventure that takes place in the 1600’s in a little shop with Master Benedict Blackthorn and his Apprentice Christopher Rowe. Times were happy, with Christopher learning new things and making new messes, with of course, trouble along the way (like when Christopher learned how to sew up a bear because of a certain cannon). After the sudden death of Master Benedict Blackthorn, Christopher finds that he’s chosen to solve codes and puzzles left by his Master.
