Running Out of Night is about a white abused girl and a runaway slave who run away for freedom. They form a great bond during their journey on the Underground Railroad. The story takes place in Waterford, Virginia. The characters travel north. On their way they run into never ending conflicts. They must stay away from slave catchers and Lark's pa.
