Winter Falls, by Nicole Maggi, tells the story of Alessia Jacobs, a sixteen-year-old girl living in a small town in Maine. Living with her protective, Italian mother on a farm, Alessia dreams of getting out of her small town and seeing the world. However, things change after a new family moves into her town, and Alessia learns that she is apart of the Benandanti. In other words, she has the ability to separate her soul from her body and into a falcon.
Caught Between Two Curses, a paranormal romance by Margo L. Dill, follows seventeen-year-old Julie Nigelson, whose world is turned upside down when she learns that her family is cursed. The curse, oddly related to the “Curse of the Billy Goat” on the Chicago Cubs, has plagued her family for decades and has struck again. Her uncle trapped in a mysterious coma, Julie must seek the help of her estranged grandmother in order to break the cryptic curse.
Disneylanders, by Bob McLain and Kate Abbott, follows 14-year-old Casey's annual summer trip to Disneyland with her family. But this summer is different than the others. Casey’s nervous to start high school next fall, is tired of trailing her embarrassing parents around Disneyland, and her (now ex) best friend Kiley isn’t coming with them like usual. Casey’s miserable, despite being in the “Happiest Place on Earth.” That is, until she meets Bert waiting in line for a ride, a boy a year older than her and with problems of his own.
