***Do you have a favorite book/subject/character/setting?

As a child I enjoyed the Dr. Seuss books. As an avid young reader, I devoured the Hardy Boys series and enjoyed all the Westerns. Now I still read children’s books, enjoy mystery/thrillers as well as a good autobiography.

***How did you get started writing?

I got started writing and illustrating children’s books because of an ongoing conversation in my relationship with Jesus Christ.

***Who influenced you?

I was not influenced by any specific author(s), illustrator(s) and or individuals. It was through prayer, the reading of scripture and the precepts set forth that I was guided, influenced and gifted with illustrative capabilities.

***What advice do you have for someone who wants to be an author?

My advice for anyone with a desire to be an author is to first discuss it in your relationship with Christ. If it is the Lord’s will for you, start the journey, continue to evolve and constantly strive to learn. If at times it or life seems scary, don’t look down, look up to the Lord, as you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

***Where is your favorite place to write?

My favorite place to write is in the woods, in my tent, with my companion cat laying by my side after morning prayer.

***What else would you like to tell us?

I wrote this book in hopes it would bring much needed attention to the national social issue of homelessness that exists in the United States today. Through this book, children will see the daily struggles and hardships faced by homeless children, women, men and animals. This will help teach children to become solutionaries who address our society’s challenges in ways that will do the most good for people and animals.
