Our team has a passion for promoting teen literacy and consists of members from Harvard College, Harvard Business School, Harvard School of Education, and high school with experience in coding, design, web analytics, and the Young Adult publishing industry. The team is led by Seth Cassel, who founded LitPick’s predecessor, Flamingnet.com, in 4th grade with his father, Gary, and quickly realized that he had discovered an idea with huge potential.

LitPick’s mission is to help preteens and teens develop a lifelong love of reading by empowering young readers to share their opinions in a social community. We hope to change the way students interact with literature and become a leader in the growing intersection of education and technology. LitPick will be a sustainable social enterprise built upon a profitable business model that brings together the major stakeholders in the young adult market – young readers, parents, educators, authors, and publishers – in a way that no organization has before.

LitPick receives courtesy copies of the latest young adult titles from publishers and authors. These review copies are made available to our student reviewers. Our young adult student reviewers provide us with their opinions on these titles in book reviews which are posted on the website, forming a lively and engaged online community with benefits for all stakeholders.
