Alia Luria is an award-winning author whose candid, humorous storytelling brings unique cross-cultural experiences vividly to life. Her latest book, Geri o Shimasu: Adventures of a Baka Gaijin, chronicles her unforgettable semester living in Japan during law school, blending laugh-out-loud moments with thoughtful introspection. Luria’s debut novel, Compendium, earned multiple accolades, including the National Indie Excellence Award in Fantasy and the Reader’s Favorite Silver Medal in Fantasy, and she continues to build on that success with both fiction and nonfiction works. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and her writing has been recognized in top literary journals and competitions, including the Malahat Review, Northwest Review, Toho Journal, and Wingless Dreamer.
