Shelly M. Patel is a mystery and children's book author. Her debut children’s book, Jake Has Dyslexia, was a 2021 Reader’s Choice Award nominee.

Shelly earned a master’s in Clinical Trials and Drug Development and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology-Clinical Research. For her academic excellence, she has been honored by Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious interdisciplinary honor society.

A part-time writer, Shelly resides in Virginia Beach with her husband, their three children, and their beloved dog, Teddy.
