o   Your video entries should be 2.5 minutes or less.

o   You must be a LitPick student book reviewer to enter.

o   Each LitPick reviewer may enter one video per book you have reviewed but may send us as many book review entries as you want to try to win.

o   Your entries cannot already be published to YouTube or anywhere else online.

o   Your video cannot be on a book that is already featured on our YouTube channel.

o   Send your entries via Dropbox, Google Docs, etc. to ghcassel@gmail.com.

o   All entries must be received by May 31, 2017 at midnight CST.

Your contest video entry must include:

o   A video of your review or an edited copy of your review read by you or by someone else.

  • You may also choose to discuss the book on your video as long as you stick closely to the summary and opinion that you wrote for your LitPick review.
  • Suggested video intro (but you can be creative and ad lib an intro too)

“Hi! This is jowill, a LitPick student book reviewer.  I just finished reading
Pegasus - A Dragon’s Tale by Gina LoBiondo and want to tell you about it.”

o   The LitPick logo

o   The book cover

o   The book title

o   The name of the author (maybe even his or her picture)

o   Your star rating of the book or the Five Star or Top Choice award, if appropriate

o   Your summary and opinion section

o   A call for students to sign up to review books for LitPick

In general:

o   Be creative and professional.

o   Present your review with a lot of feeling and intonation.

o   Be considerate of the author and publisher.  If you didn’t particularly like the book, please be tactful and still try to point out some strengths of the story, characters, or writing, along with saying why you did not enjoy the book.

o   Please do not use your real name or where you live or go to school.

o   If you choose to appear in person in your video entry, be sure that you have discussed this with your sponsor.  As you know, LitPick tries to keep your identity private and only uses your username and avatars on our site and YouTube channel.

After submission, we will upload your video to our YouTube channel and then add a Thumbnail image and pop-up cards with a link to buy the book.

When you look at examples of booktubes on our LitPick YouTube channel, please LIKE our videos that you particularly enjoy.  This will help us know which formats our student reviewers think work best for our future booktube videos.  Of course, we are also looking forward to getting new ideas from what you all produce for our contest, too.

Winners will get to choose either a pair of polarized Polaroid sunglasses or a $25 Amazon gift card.

Thank you very much! We will look forward to watching your video entries!
