V. K. Green is an autistic college freshman at the University of San Francisco majoring in History. He has performed at a high academic level with advanced diction, language, and social skills. Green is aware how society misunderstands those who have this condition and has decided to use fictional storytelling to demonstrate the reality of what autism is, and what those who have it are capable of achieving.
Here is a brief description of the book.
The World Saviors—a confederation of humans, elves, dwarves, dragons and Wulks—battle the Dark Lord Vanko, who’s attempting to destroy Earth.
Debut novelist Green adds to the usual suspects of epic fantasy with the creation of a race called Wulks, who look just like humans except that their bodies are covered with hair, save for their faces, and they grow tails at the age of 18. Rilk, an orphaned, autistic 14-year-old Wulk, is celebrating his graduation from junior high school with his two best friends, Marvin, a human, and Fred, an elf, when his grandfather Manfield is called away on a secret mission by Englar, the Dragon Prince and secret guardian of Earth. The boys decide to follow their elders and soon become caught up in the fight to defend Earth from Vanko, a renegade Dragon Prince; Kevin Johnson, an Air Force colonel gone bad; and their supernatural minions, the Araks and Plovakas.
