If you're speaking of the English Renaissance, then I would suggest "The Lady Trent Mysteries" by Gilbert Morris. They take place during the 18th century - 100 years after the Renaissance - but they still have that Renaissance feel to them. I adore Gilbert Morris, and I hope you like his books just as much as I do.

Nonna's Book of Mysteries is set in Florence during the Renaissance. The main character Emilia Serafini wants to learn to paint but apprenticeships for women were not acceptable. Emilia is a strong female character and the setting gives this book so much depth.
