I'm a scientist, musician and amateur writer (not necessarily in that order). I write fiction because I'm a fussy reader who has struggled to find novels that engage me. It reached a point where if I wanted to be entertained by books, I had to write my own.

Most of my novels are contemporary fantasies mixed with heavy doses of reality (or contemporary realities mixed with light doses of fantasy). In some circles this is known as slipstream. In other circles this is known as 'no commercial potential.'
