Simon Roxby has nurtured a keen interest in wildlife since he was knee high to a grasshopper. Originally from North East England and raised in a family of keen bird watchers it's no surprise his first venture into writing and illustrating focuses on raising awareness for the need to conserve our wonderful bees.

His first book, The Wumble Bee, was inspired by his son who has also inherited the fascination with turning over stones, digging in the mud, looking through binoculars and exploring the rich and varied habitats around him.

Now an honorary Yorkshireman, Simon lives in the rural heart of the county where music also plays an important part of his life. As a songwriter Simon has had his music broadcast on national radio stations and has been a highlight on BB6 Radio 6 Music.
