If Phyllis looks familiar, you may have seen in her on television in bit roles for the Discovery Channel, FBI Files, New Detectives, Diagnosis Unknown, and Psychic Investigator. She also played a small role in the independent film - Sweet Good Fortune- aired at the Naro Theatre, and did an infomercial for Chlorox. She modeled for Days Inn Hotels in an ad that ran in the yellow pages, on brochures, and on website advertising the hotel chain. In addition, she was in a film produced by Coastal Video on Child Abuse Prevention.

Phyllis enjoys sharing her experience and motivating others on their journey toward publication. She speaks on writing at local colleges, and has been a past speaker for Chesapeake Reading Council Young Writer's Reception and conducted poetry workshops for several writing groups.

Her poetry collections span multiple genres including inspirational, historical and humor, as well as writing fiction. Her published collection of poetry titled, BEING FRANK WITH ANNE, has received rave reviews by teachers and high profile individuals like Virginia's Poet Laureate Caroylyn Kreiter-Foronda and the 2007 Pulitzer prize winner for poetry, Nathasha Tretheway. BEING FRANK WITH ANNE is archived in the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. An honor she cherishes. She's hopeful this collection of poetry will be used in classrooms to further the awareness and understanding of students. She has classroom materials available online to support that venture.
