PHILIP A. TEMPLETON, MD, FACR, is the former Professor
and Chairman of Radiology at the University of Maryland, and
the former Thoracic Radiology Chief at Johns Hopkins. He
was educated at Holy Cross College and was a medical school
valedictorian at the University of Rochester. He completed a
thoracic fellowship at Harvard Massachusetts General Hospital.
In 2001, he left academics as an early pioneer in teleradiology
– using the internet to transmit and then interpret digital
radiology images for hospitals and outpatient imaging centers. He
has been an entrepreneur and consultant to numerous medical
imaging companies.
