She continues to work for high-profile publishers such as Callisto Media and Guideposts Books. Prior to her ventures into book publishing, Kelly spent fifteen years near the tippy-top of the masthead as executive editor of Girls’ Life magazine. She is an instructor for The PEN Institute and a lesson designer on SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Kelly is on staff at the central Enoch Pratt Free Library, and she conducts courses in professional studies at Morgan State University in Baltimore.
