Katie Proctor has been a writer since the third grade when her teacher introduced poetry. Between then and now, she has been a fourth-grade teacher, a stay-at-home mom, and lifestyle/literacy blogger at www.katieproctorwrites.com. 

She reads anything she can get her hands on, and her favorite place to be is a library. Now, she writes middle grade fiction inspired by stories of all kinds of different people. 

Katie grew up in New Mexico, and while she misses the green chile and the Sandia mountains, she lives in North Texas with her husband and two children.
