Kathleen Welton is an award-winning editor, independent publisher, and writer. She is grateful for a book publishing career spanning more than 45 years. Having started out as a college textbook sales rep, she has served in a variety of roles from senior editor to vice president and publisher. 

As an independent publisher for aka Associates, she collaborates with authors and organizations on award-winning and best-selling coloring books, puzzle books, and quote books. She writes books that share inspiration and fun adventures where dreams take flight.

Kathleen champions the beauty of beaches, birds, and wildlife while promoting a sustainable future through her work. She supports organizations including the Chicago Bird Alliance, the Chicago Parks Foundation, and Lincoln Park Zoo.

Fueled by a lifelong love of learning, Kathleen holds a BA in English and Italian Literature from Stanford University. When she is not writing, Kathleen enjoys getting lost in a good book and exploring the shores of Lake Michigan. A true Californian at heart, she and her beloved Burmese cats call Chicago home.
