SIX MINUTES WITH GL WILSON:
Joining LitPick today for Six Minutes with an Author is G.L. Wilson, author of Campion’s Choice: How to take a picture of the future (Book One). This is the author’s first book.
How did you get started writing?
When I was 7 we had to write a diary entry every day at school. The best ones received a star. My entries never won a star, so I started to make things up. My uncle was the pilot of Concorde. I'd climbed the Eiffel Tower. Once I started getting the stars I never looked back.
Who influenced you?
So many great writers from Jane Austen to JK Rowling.
Do you have a favorite book/subject/character/setting?
Favourite book - Of Mice and Men
Character - Peter Pan
What advice do you have for someone who wants to be an author?
Accept that you are a writer. Success is irrelevant. You've been born lucky, you’ve found something you love.
Where is your favorite place to write?
In my house, in a quiet room with the sound of my family in the distance.
What else would you like to tell us?
I love writing and have one purpose, to write something that makes people happy. If a few people are taken away to a different place for a few hours, that's enough.
