Author’s Bio
Amy Reece was born in upstate New York on a stormy March night in the year 1956. She moved with her parents and three brothers at the age of six to West Hartford, Connecticut, where she lived until heading for college at the University of Missouri-Columbia. There, Amy pursued a degree in English education.
Today Amy is a teacher and freelance writer who lives with her husband, Doug, and youngest daughter, Lily, on Martha’s Vineyard Island. Her older children, Ellie and Sam, are successfully launched. Amy spends her days happily teaching language arts and social studies to fifth and sixth graders. Her late afternoons are spent at a local barn taking care of her horse, Alex. During evenings and weekends, when she’s not writing, gardening, or grading papers, Amy enjoys time with family and friends.
Amy was inspired to write her third manuscript, Regarding Jeffrey, by a comment Lily made in the car on the way home from school one day. They were listening to a classic rock radio station. “It must have been fun growing up in the sixties.” Fun? Mmmmmm . . . it was a time of change. That’s for sure.
