Adrienne Woods

I was born and raised in South Africa, where I reside with my husband and two beautiful little girls till this day.

I'm very passionate about my writing and my first novel Firebolt was released the 20th November 2013. It's the first part of a four part series called The Dragonian Series. I'm planning to get the second part out next year, same time.

When I'm not writing, I love to read and review other upcoming authors on my blog. I'm a host with a virtual tour company and I'm soon going to start reviewing for GMTA Publishers, who also will be publishing my series.

Love, love, love my family, and wouldn't have been able to do any of this without their support.

INTERVIEW WITH ADRIENNE WOODS:

1. How did you get started writing?

Since I was 13 I knew I was going to become a writer.  It only started becoming a reality at the age of 29. I just pick up an empty notebook one day and started to write. I couldn't stop from that moment on, and I have in total 21 stories that still needed to be written, most of them are part of a couple of series.

2. Who influenced you?

Every author that had ability to let me escape reality with their pages and beautiful worlds; there are just so many.

3. Do you have a favorite book/subject/character/setting?

Books: Harry Potter series and Dragon riders of Pern by Anne McCartney

Subject: Fantasy, Paranormal, so Dragons, magic and vampires. I do love romance as well, and will bring out a series for adults called The Pregnancy Diaries soon.

Characters: I've got so many in my head. As long as their stories are interesting, I try my best to put it on paper.

Setting: I love my own worlds, but I do like this one as well. So I usually end up mixing the two.

4. What advice do you have for someone who wants to be an author?

Everyone says never to give up, and yes that is important, but before you even consider becoming a writer, make sure you know and have what it takes to become one. You deal with good and negative criticism and you need to be able to handle all of it. The hard part comes after you publish your novel, so just keep that in mind before you start.

5. Where is your favorite place to write?

Believe it or not, late at night when all is quiet and in the kitchen.

6. What else would you like to tell us?

I've got two gorgeous little girls, so I've got to take care of them first. A beautiful husband that has been the inspiration in so many of the characters I create and an extremely naughty husky pup with one blue eye and one brown eye, who eats everything coming his way. If I'm not writing, I'm spending it with them.
