Winter of Elves is a magical story about Aly and her sister, Emily. Aly has special powers. Aly, her grandmother, and her little sister all share these powers. When an injured wolf shows up near the elf village, everyone is dismayed. Aly and her grandmother hurry to heal the wolf and keep it hidden. Dwarfs and rock elves are hunting the wolf. They are closing in on the elf village, and it is up to Aly to get rid of them.

Emily’s elf power is increasing, scaring everyone when she disappears. The danger is increasing and no one is safe anymore. Can Aly, Emily, and their grandmother save the day? Or will the dwarfs and rock elves get the wolf? Find out when you read Winter of Elves!

Opinion:

This book is well-written and a perfect read for magic and fantasy lovers. Short, action-packed scenes fill the book’s pages. However, the middle of the story slows a bit. The ending is without fault and leaves the reader dreaming about what will happen next. The book seems geared toward readers ten and under, though Aly is a twelve-year-old. Overall, Winter of Elves is an enchanting story for eight to ten-year-olds.
