LitPick Review
Sophie Bloom thought her life was difficult enough having to deal with her absentee mother and her parade of disposable step-dads, not to mention the uptight yoga cult her arch-nemesis Bethany leads, but when she sneaks out of school, runs into smokin' hot Kai and shares a steamy kiss that induces hullucinations her whole life goes topsy-turvy. Sophie must discover whether or not the images that flash in her head of gods and awe-inspiring powers are a trick of her imagination or memories of a past life. With her best friend Hannah the science geek and Theo, who may have his own secrets, she has to discover what it means to be a Goddess, and hopefully save the world from angry Greek nightmares at the same time.
Opinion:
My Ex from Hell is a hilarious take on Greek mythology that borders on cheesy. The main character, Sophie, is witty and entertaining, and has two very realistic and interesting cohorts with whom she can witty-banter the day away. This book was different - the characters seemed realistic in their actions, yet the story had a good dose of mythology at the same time. I enjoyed this book, and it made me laugh quite a bit.
