After Jarra, a handicapped Ape girl, who is stuck on Earth because she can’t portal to any other worlds like anyone else, applies for a foundation course at University Asgard, an off-world college, she starts her course at a New York dig site on Earth.  She later becomes a tag leader for Team 1, the best position in the best group she can possibly be with.  Jarra has already made a false background for herself, “Jarra the Military Kid” or “JMK”.  When Jarra falls in love, she knows she’s in trouble.  She can’t marry a human who isn’t stuck on Earth, who can easily portal anywhere unlike herself, or can she?

Opinion:

Surely you remember reading your favorite book for the very first time.  Earth Girl is packed with thrilling and dangerous surprises, which is probably why your favorite book is your favorite book.  Earth Girl might not be your new favorite book, but being filled with some fun surprises, it will definitely be on the list of your “runner-ups”.  After all, it is on mine.

Explain your content rating:

This book has some kissing scenes and fairly inappropriate words and scenes. This book will not be a very good read for younger children, in my opinion; I think that the average recommended age to read this should probably be ages 12 and older, no younger. Besides the minor inappropriate words and scenes, Earth Girl was really a very good book. The words and scenes really helped me relate to the book using the real world. The words and scenes did help make the book seem more realistic, though. Earth Girl was definitely a very interesting read.
