For What It's Worth is a thrilling and action-packed story of four high school boys (Jon Ryan, Fonz, Weasel and Hernandez) who each wanted to be known as the senior who pulled the best prank. They took their prank-pact seriously by giving out rules and also promising a reward for the person who pulled the best prank among them. They seemed to be enjoying their pranks until Fonz pulled his prank, which is when things began to go wrong. They exposed themselves to danger, but nevertheless they continued on with their challenge. But in the end, did they get what they wanted? Who won the reward for the best prank? Were they able to avoid danger? Were they punished for pulling pranks? All these questions and a lot more are answered in this page-turner.
Opinion:
For What It's Worth is both an amusing and suspenseful book, packed with high school pranks and criminal acts. The descriptions, especially of the criminal acts, made it seem like I was watching an action movie. The characters' roles were described well. The author's use of Jon Ryan as the narrator made the storyline easy to read and understand.
