When I picked this book to read, I thought it would be a romance or realistic fiction story, but it was definitely a mystery. I did enjoy how it still had some romance in it. The book starts off right away with different perspectives like ‘Het’ and ‘Eleanor.’ Before you get to know who these characters are, it is a little weird to read their perspectives. You don’t know how they fit into the story, so it's difficult to pay attention to them. Once I did know who they were, I really liked reading them.
The book was a little slow until the second half. I wish it picked up the pace sooner, but I am so glad I kept reading because the ending was very dramatic. It was a total surprise. Usually I have a pretty good idea of what is going to happen, but not this time. The author made me think one thing and then completely changed what happened. How the romance part of the book ended was also unexpected. At first I didn’t know if I liked the ending, but now I don’t think I would have changed it. Overall, this was a good book.
