The book Angel In My Pocket was a fun tale about a girl named Bette who lives with her father and older sister Barbra. Bette goes to a magnet school that studies preforming art. Before Bette's mother died, she would always sing but now she is too depressed to sing any more. One day she and her sister find a rare angel coin and soon Bette's life changes. She meets new friends and finds the courage to sing again. Soon the angel coin ends up in the hands of some of Bette's close friends and their lives change for the better as well. Is there really magic in this one angel coin?

Leah Clifford's "A Touch Mortal" is all about a human that sparks the attention of an angel. The angel falls in love with her and the drama ensues. Suicide and death inch their way into the story, too. There are categories of angels and special rules for what happens when angels and humans interact. There are also various sides that humans and angels take. Love triangles form and new characters are shoved into the plot in an attempt to somehow make the story more interesting.

Ann Rinaldi writes a lot of very good historical fiction books that tell history through the eyes of a fictional character. This is a shorter one about a girl who lives in Hagerstown, Maryland during the Civil War. Although she tries to stay neutral during the war, in the end she does something that saves the day for her community.

This book is about a girl who has never had to really be herself. She has an older brother who always gets her into the good social events and two best friends who helped her through life. Everything was as it was until her two best friends turn into punk posers and change completely. Jessie begins to start look for new friends and finds people who she never would of assoicated with before. She has to decide whether to stick with her new nerd friends or her old cool friends.
